Using a DVE Wipe Transition with Your ATEM Switcher
Transitions with a graphic
A DVE graphic wipe moves between two sources using a graphic as the wiping element — a branded shape, a logo sweep, a coloured bar. It's how a cut between cameras starts to look like a produced show rather than a switch.
What the video covers
- Finding the example graphic wipes installed with ATEM Software Control
- Dragging a wipe into the media pool so it loads into media player 1
- Selecting DVE, then the wipe option, in the transitions palette
- Setting media player 1 as the fill source
- Choosing DVE in the transition block and setting the rate
- Running the transition with the auto button, and adjusting the rate to taste
Rate matters more than the graphic itself — three seconds reads as a feature, one second as a transition. Worth testing both against your material. Browse ATEM switchers.
