Speech to Text Editing in DaVinci Resolve
Editing from a transcript
DaVinci Resolve Studio can transcribe your clips automatically and let you edit from the text. For interviews, documentary and any dialogue-heavy project, it replaces scrubbing through hours of rushes with reading and selecting.
What the video covers
- Selecting clips and running Audio Transcription to generate a transcript
- Searching the transcript for keywords and correcting any mistakes
- Exporting the transcript as a text file
- Selecting a passage of text and having the matching range marked in the source viewer
- Inserting or appending that section straight into the timeline, or making a subclip
- Generating subtitles for the finished timeline with Create Subtitles from Audio
Fourteen languages are supported, including English, Chinese and Korean. Note that transcription is a Studio-only feature — it isn't in the free version of DaVinci Resolve. See DaVinci Resolve Studio →
